Get your chalk on...

Did you know a blackboard doesn't have to be black? It doesn't have to be a board either. It can be round, red and on a wall! In fact, it can be almost any colour you like! Check out the range...
These ones above are from Porters Paints...

And these ones are The Society Inc. colours from Murobond.
The grey on the bottom row is divine - it's the one I used on the boys beds... They still don't know their beds are actually blackboards - I might just die if they were to take to them with chalk! But the ultra matte finish chalkboard paint gives is unmatched by any other paint masquerading as ultra matte.
So don't be dull! Think outside the square and get your chalk on!

Tuesday Tour: The home behind the room

The room.

The home.

To die for lighting DIY idea

Oh wow! I can't gush about this idea enough. It's pure genius! I actually wrestled with whether or not I should show you  y'know? I've been trawling eBay since I first saw it and can't find a globe that's right to save myself - I figured the last thing I needed was competition in bidding for one if I found it... But then I'm not one to keep a great idea to myself and so I'm sharing... But if you win my auction you better watch out!

We did it!

Not only did it work, but it was easy and it looks fantastic! It's now hanging on the boys bedroom door and they're mightily impressed with how clever their dear mum is... Brownie points come cheap here!

This is one totally dreamy bedroom

Lucky this isn't my bedroom I say - I'd never get out of bed, my children would starve and I wouldn't turn up for work!

Trash or treasure?

The answer to that question lies in the same location that beauty is kept. At first glance this twisted crooked old chair looked a lot like trash to me - but then it grew on me... the drawers on the other hand I loved instantly.

At home with Kate Spade and the fam...

A squiz inside the digs of Kate Spade? Yes please! Not what I expected. Take a look...
Let's start with the most relevant room in the house - Kate's daughter, Bea's room...

Bea and dad, Andy, hugging it up in the living room...

Lots of love in this house - a nice feature...

The whole place is verging on cluttered with incredible art. Loving the big black inky splodge over the fireplace...

Gallery Hall...

The heart of the home...

Nice blue leather chair Kate! Such a Kate Spade colour...

More incredible art...
But if that's not enough for you, check out The Selby for the full tour with loads more pics of her enviable collections. Did you know that David Spade from Just Shoot Me is actually Kate's brother-in-law? And that Kate was working at Mademoiselle magazine when she launched her first range of what were to be become iconic handbags? I didn't know either of those things...

Clever design: tick

At Noosh we adore clever design. It's what inspires us and it's what we strive towards. This piece by ella and elliot ticks all the boxes.

Turquoise & pistachio nursery

Pistachio? Is that what you'd call it? Whatever the name for the colour of this room - it's good. It has a real gelato vibe about it (and we know that's always good) and it works really well with those few pops of turquoise too. Loving the blind, the floor lamp and the burst of orange in the natural lit window space - a perfect spot for sharing literary adventures...

Red vintage retro with a glorious window seat

This room belongs to a little guy name Atticus. And what a lucky little guy he is!!!
Loving the refinished vintage bed in fire engine red, the A on the wall, The retro bedside table, the striped feature wall. Hop over to Samantha Pynn Interiors to see more inspirational rooms.

Mmmmm... Nice lamp!

Cool boys skate space

How cool is the Pantone swatch chart skate deck on the wall please? Loving the boyish-ness of this room - and especially the use of the timber truck as a book display!

How to do THAT amazing crayon wall art!

This project has been all over Pinterest for weeks. I love it. But some of the suggestions of how to actually do it were a little worrying - there was no way I was going to be putting crayons inside my old pal "the glue gun"! Now there's an easy how to - check it out over at Whatever.... I'm off to buy us some crayons and a canvas!

Character amplified

I just love the raw unstyled quality of this room... and the pallet bed.

One super-cute kids bathroom idea

Oh the decadence of a kids bathroom huh? That's on the (very long) list for my next house. And amidst the renovation plans for my "next" house, will be this dreamy lighting idea...

Tuesday Tour: The home behind the room

Do you ever look at the rooms on NooshLoves and wonder what the homes they are in look like? Wonder if every room is as divine as the playroom? If the owners just struck it luck with their colour scheme in the nursery? Well I do. All the time. So, to quench our aesthetic yearnings I've decided to show you some of the homes behind the rooms. Here's the first...

Remember this room from this post?

Here's the home it belongs to...
